Buy Local-Made in Hawaii

OK. So here we are in the Christmas season....Black Friday is over, Cyber Monday is a thing of the past and now we are in the full swing of the holiday shopping season. Now that you have burned out from shopping at the big box stores such as Target and Wal-mart and recovered from your injuries due to the out of control shopping carts operated by glassy eyed psychopaths, step back, take a deep breath and consider a safer and more pleasing shopping experience at Maku'u Market over the next couple of weeks.

Have a sit-down with your family, eat some good grindz while listening to some great local live music and take a walk around the Market and find many beautiful Made in Hawaii gifts of art, food and crafts that you will not find anywhere else in the Punaverse.

For starters, try some of Ron's Local Honey from Puna, available in 1/2 pint up to 1/2 gallon containers in many flavors. This is some of the best local Hawaiian honey you will ever find. You can find Ron's Honey at Marvins banana booth C-1.

Another sweet treat can be found at the Island Valley Delights booth, F-26. Anita has her all homemade "Jamin' Jellies" brand of local goodies available by the jar, gift packs or by the case. In the last couple of weeks Anita has already sold 80 cases and the Christmas shopping season has just begun. Visit her at booth # F-26 on Sunday and visit her site at: islandvalleydelights.com

The next 3 vendors are either past or current Maku'u Farmer's Market Vendors of the Month. Their stories can be found on the Vendor of the Month page.

Mara Mayo is a local artist with a wide variety of handmade artful gifts available including her wearable art jewelery. These are very special gifts for a very special person. Mara is at booth F-3 and on the web at maramayo.com

Jeremiah White sells only one product...his ocean art t-shirts. His designs are inspired by the creatures of the blue waters of Hawaii. You can read about this talented young man on the blog, visit his website at akuacreative.com   and stop by his booth at Maku'u Farmer's Market.

Thomas Vincent, our next vendor is the punaverse.blogspot.com   December Vendor of the Month. Thomas looks like any other Punatic wearing long hair, a t-shirt, shorts and slippa'. What makes him stand out above the rest is his fine woodcraft: boxes, pens and other unique artworks PLUS his handmade ukulele fashioned from all Hawaii exotic woods. He will be at the market booth # B-6 every Sunday except for Dec.4 when he will be part of the Paradise Studio Tour in Paradise Park. You can see more of his work on his website: tvwoodcrafts.com

Please remember that all of these vendors are our neighbors and NOT corporations and every dollar spent here stays here in our community. All of the vendors in this story and many others at Maku'u Farmer's Market will ship anywhere in the world in time for Christmas or any other occasion and many of them offer PayPal and credit card payment options, and ALOHA comes FREE with every purchase!
