It's all about community

KOA of Puna, in association with the Maku'u Farmer's Association present the 2011 Toys for Tots fundraiser for Christmas. The group has a list of 400 Keiki, from 0 to 11 that have asked for a gift from Santa this year and they are promoting an "Adopt a Keiki" program to be able to gift all 400 kids for Christmas. 400 is a lot of gifts, and about 50 kids have been adopted so far at 25.00 each. Our community has responded in force to support this program with donations, sponsorship and fundraising activities, now through November 19. This is how you can be part of this great event:

1. The KOA Puna Club has a booth near the stage at the Food Court so you can stop by and make a donation or adopt a keiki for Christmas.

2. On Oct. 21 and Nov. 11, the Pahoa Village Club will be featuring live music and great entertainment for this fundraiser. The total proceeds from the 5.00 cover charge each night will be donated to the Puna Toys for Tots program. Join us for good fun and a good cause at PVC.

3. On Nov. 4th, the Akebono Theatre will present a show of unmatched magnitude and proportions that will be announced very soon.

The final event will be held on Nov. 19 at the Maku'u Farmer's Market site, 10-2 pm. with live music, bouncy toys for the Keiki, gift presentations and much more.

Mahalos to Patrick, Andrew, Skippy and the crew from KOA Puna, Auntie Paula and the Maku'u Farmer's Association, Lions Club, Hawaii Petroleum, Pahoa Feed, Pahoa Village Club, Akebono Theatre and the Pahoa Pawn Shop, and to those folks that have adopted 50 Puna Kids for Christmas. Any size donation will be accepted from businesses or individuals. Please join us Sunday to make a donation or adopt a Keiki for Christmas.

For more information, contact Auntie Paula at 808-896-5537. For our friends around the world that would like to be part of this wonderful opportunity to help our Keiki, we will post a mailing address to send sponsorship/donations ASAP.
